the end of the starbucks chapter. January 30, 2009

my Starbucks career has officially ended.  This morning was my last morning and I have to say, I am kinda sad. Not like I wanted to work there the rest of my life but I still really enjoyed the regulars and just the fact that I was serving others yummy coffee.  But, the time has come to move on and I am beyond excited to move to Indy tomorrow and start my first day as an adult on Monday ;-)

so farewell Starbucks. I will miss your green aprons,  the smell you leave on my clothes even when I’m not working, the smiling (and not smiling) regulars, the pastries that have more calories and fat grams than a Big Mac, working the drive thru at 5:30am in the morning with snow blizzarding in on me, the woman who always wanted a decaf coffee with a shot of espresso, the Asians wanting their americanos-tall size, the Asians getting mad that we can’t understand them, the ditzy sorority girls wanting a Venti Skinny Latte with extra whip cream, and especially the sweet discount you gave me.

Another Lee family engagement has occurred!! Jeremy’s little brother (and only sibiling) proposed to his girlfriend of 5 years, Jennifer, at midnight on January 12th, their 5 year anniversary.  Both Jen and Justin are my age but are juniors at IU and we have had fun spending time with them throughout the couple of years we have all been down here.  These two have been together since high school and are adorable together.. and now they are getting married!!! I am proud to say that I have known about the engagement since the fall and I kept it a secret :)

Anyways, so now both Lee boys are engaged and I am so excited to help Jennifer with the wedding planning (especially since ours is starting to come to a close)… they haven’t set a date yet but it might end up being Jeremy’s birthday (may 29, 2010) which is funny because we are getting married just a few days after Justin’s birthday.

CONGRATS you two!!! We love you dearly and are sooo happy for you!!

ps- interesting tidbit… Jennifer’s last name is already Lee so she doesn’t have to go through the annyoing process of changing her name on everything. lucky her :)

just wanted to share with a you a few things that have brought me lots of smiles in the past week or two…

1. The Christmas Tree that I bought on clearance for $6.72. I’m not kidding.  Jeremy and I will now have our own tree for years to come and it was probably cheaper than any present that will ever be under it.

this is obviously not it but it’s pretty :)

2. The Yankee Candle Clean Cotton Air Freshners that Santa put in my stocking.  I could not figure out why my mom’s car smelt so clean and good and then all of the sudden I opened the package and smelled the amazingness that is now hanging in my car.

3. My Jon & Kate + 8 Seasons 1 &2 DVD.  I absolutely love love love this family. I bought the book and received the dvd from my sis for Christmas.  I can probably tell you anything you wanna know about them. I’m not obsessed- I just really admire Jon & Kate and adore their kids! And I love watching it with my mom…she’s the only one that understands and enjoys it with me (although I can usually get Jeremy to watch 3-4 episodes)

4. Apple Chai Infusion @ Starbucks. I was never a fan of chai tea or steamed apple juice but this drink is delicious and aaamazing :)

5. The fact that almost all of my friends are buying books and getting ready to go back to school and I am graduated :) :)

now, I know that there are plenty of you who read this daily because I see the stats every time I log in! So, why don’t you comment and share the things, big or little, that have made you giggle lately :)

xoxoxoxo.

welcome to our family Christmas’ (one in Fort Wayne with Amber’s parents on Christmas and one with Jeremy’s extended family on the 27th)

annual Gray family tradition- The Festival of Lights in Franke Park

dsc09278

then after the Festival of Lights we drive downtown where many of the buildings have Holiday greetings on them… we tried to make it look like Carly was eating the wreath but it didn’t work.

dsc09289

another family tradition… every Christmas morning my dad makes orange cinnamon rolls and puts them in the shape of a word or picture.

dsc09297

YES! My sis is amazing and got me Seasons 1 & 2 of Jon & Kate+ 8!!!!! :) Jeremy and I watched 7 episodes in one sitting. I love them.

Christmas Break (can we really call it that if neither one of us are students?) has been extremely helpful with the wedding planning as we have been able to do little things like order toasting glasses with our names monogrammed, hand-make the ring bearer pillows with IU fabric, assemble our GORGEOUS wedding invitations, and design the table # stands….. along with many “surprises” that I definitely cannot list on here :)   Anyways, it’s been a blast but combine all of the planning with the process of searching for an apartment and I have decided that I am ready to get married! No more of this waiting stuff, it’s been real, it’s been fun but it’s time to be a Mrs. :)   But, I won’t lie, you do all this planning and dreaming for this day and I think I’ll be sad when it’s over. oh well, I can reminisce on the honeymoon ;-)

see ya @ the wedding in 85 days!!!!!

happy new year :)
